News

Our research group is active in the area of computer systems modeling, performance evaluation, and AI applications.

We develop mathematical models and analysis methodologies for the evaluation of performance and reliability of systems ranging from mobile and edge devices (e.g., smartphones) to large-scale distributed systems (e.g., hybrid clouds and datacenters).

Our research focuses on many aspects of AI, including “AI for systems” and “systems for AI”, robustness, privacy and security of AI systems, AI methods for health and data-driven personalized wellness, federated learning.

Over the years, we have successfully applied these techniques to reduce power consumption in datacenters, schedule jobs across geo-distributed systems, evaluate reliability of software architectures, define pricing mechanisms for cloud services, improve P2P streaming.

Our group proudly supports the USC WiSE program, a groundbreaking effort to increase the representation and success of women in science and engineering.
